This website is operated by the Qatar Bird Observation Group (QBOG), a collective of voluntary entities and individuals passionate about bird sightings in Qatar. It includes various social media platforms and groups, as well as the Qatar Birds Records Committee (QBRC). The QBRC is responsible for maintaining the official record of all wild bird species documented in the State of Qatar.

The aim of the Qatar Bird List is to contribute to national and international conservation programs by providing accurate and up-to-date information about the birds occurring in Qatar. A key aspect of this effort is to encourage the submission of records and observations in order to help maintain a complete picture of the country’s birdlife.
