QBRC Decisions

QBRC Decisions

This page includes details of all sightings ratified by the Qatar Birds Records Committee (QBRC).

The committee assesses which species  and which observations are eligible to be admitted to the Qatar List , thereby ensuring a validated, up-to-date record of the country ’s wild birds.

The earliest bird observation records in Qatar date back to 1974. From 1974 until 2006, records of rare birds were collected, though not in systematically. The Qatar Birds Records Committee (QBRC) was established as a voluntary body in 1996, and fully systematic, standardized recording of observations began in 2006.
