  • Description
  • A winter visitor, but also an occasional breeder that has been noted in all months of the year. This small lark is often seen in flocks scurrying over rough ground, desert and ploughed fields. It is highly variable in colour - some flocks comprise pale sandy brown birds, in others they are grey, while yet others are of reddish brown birds. These different plumages reflect the colour of the habitat (nesting ground) from where each flock originates.
